FORD India, in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has launched an educational project to improve educational infrastructure and the quality of education atgovernment-aided schools in the auto corridor, Maraimalai Nagar, near Chennai.
The soft launch of the project took place at the Government Higher Secondary School, Singaperumal Koil and Thirukachur, coinciding with Children's Day. It has been evolved with a holistic approach of intervention at three levels amongst parents, teachers and students.
"Proper education is the basic right of every child. Though few institutions in India are world renowned, we are still facing multiple challenges to provide proper education to major population of India", observed Ford India president managing director Arvind Mathew.
CII played an imperative role in the project facilitating BODHI, Training and Counseling
Centre as the knowledge partner.
Students will be provided on-going counsel and information on various courses, colleges, entrance exams and admission processes. Talented students will be identified
and encouraged to improve their skill by participating in competitive activities like debates, essay writing, poems, sports and drawing to help improve their self-confidence, Ford India said in a release.
