Bodhi, an educational agency has launched a career hotline to help students and parents make the right choices. The hotline services are free and offered over phone as well as on their website www.bodhi.co.in according to a press release. The counselling team comprising of psychologists and career counsellors will provide information on careers, colleges and courses. Those who are already employed but would like to make career changes can also use the facility.
Mrs. Kalavathi, Director, Career Division said many students did not know about careers other than engineering and medicine while there were more than 300 careers to choose from. “Even within the engineering field there are nearly 25 specialisations each requiring a specific set of personality traits and abilities for success. Careers which may seem similar like biotechnology, biometrics, bioinformatics, biomedical sciences require different traits and aptitude,” she said.
